This section helps us understand the spirit of the Constitution and why the rest of the articles organize government powers around those aims. It isn’t about prescribing the powers of the Supreme Court, detailing how to amend the Constitution, or setting up the structure of state governments; those roles are filled by the main articles and later amendments.
